Whole Foods Heaven!!

Holiday hubba whatty people's! Yes Fringe I LOVE missguided and love the wish list you have got going on there!!!

Just a quikie to update my visit to the brand new whole foods market in Giffnock, which is as innovative as supermarkets get! I walked in with my mum and she grabbed a wee trolly totally stealing the guys trolly giving out job that day. She also warned me on several occasions that if we got jailed for me taking pictures inside, she would deny she was with me. When she found out in jail you would probably get a cuppa tea, she calmed down. As soon as I confirmed however that you couldn't just nip out for a cigarette if you had been arrested then she went off on one again! Palava over and on we went.

An American outlet and inspired by organic and health foods minus the additives and processed evils, this Texan born company stays true to its mission to provide the best of and natural products the market can offer. It covers everything from, cheeses to cleaning products to skin care and what a treat to just lull around the place. Pricey in alot of ways, but ideal for a treat every now and then for those of you guys like me, on a budget, the create your own nut butter and meringues the size of your head are perfect for a little something special and this is why it is worth a visit.

The hot soups, pick your own coffee and fresh bread kept me interested and they constantly have stalls of things to taste and try. Ideal! Anyways, worth a visit, get your bahookies down there! They may also have a wanted poster hanging with my coupon on it for illicit photo taking. Be a darling and pull it down eh? Thanking you.

Oh no...

Something terrible has happened. I have been introduced BEFORE PAYDAY to Missguided and I'm pretty sure topknot you had told me about it, but this time I was right needing a look at lovely dresses! I was vulnerable girls, and ripe for the picking. But then, I looked. And the dresses were all under about £20! Sooooo...I have a huuuuge wish list and I think I will treat myself to a few bits and pieces every now and again. My wardrobe so desperately needs a real shake up, an injection of some lovely smart pieces that I can mix and match with older things. Actually, if I'm honest I'm at a stage where if my wardrobe went on fire (a controlled fire obviously) I would only care about my actual wardrobe itself. It's a beautiful vintage three door affair. Beautiful. So, here are a few pieces I like girls. Have a look yourself if you're feeling a bit like me on the old fashion front.

And that's not even mentioning the shoes...mmmmm, shoes...Got to run, time to make pennies to buy pretty dresses!

Plans!

Right girls, we're all super busy, but also super stressed. Time to plan a Christmas adventure. Basically one boss has told me to let get know ANY time off I have (even wee half days) so that I can go straight in to work there when I'm done! So time is off the essence. I'm reckoning that Edinburgh would be nice if we can get a whole day, George square if not?

Ps, in starbucks ordering a filter 'we've none ready, would you mind if I made you an americano for the same price? Erm, nope! Happy morning all xxx

Country living!

Hiya lovelies, how are you all? its been a really long long day. I hope yours went better and less depressing than mine did? being a 999 operator has made my brain melt and my face hurt and my whole being totally cynical and difficult to rouse into much of any emotion that ain't bewilderment or annoyance. I at times have no faith in humanity. So much so I considered many ways of offing myself with a keyboard and a crap headset for weaponry. Today was one of those days. But after my brilliant omelette and diluted juice i'm sat, watching UP (gets me everytime) whilst trying to gather all the bits and bobs of info I have collected across the last week or so and there's not a suicide note in sight!

So a really cool thing happened to my mother in law and I managed to also reap the benefits of a great wee win she had! She entered a competition and won herself two tickets to the Country Living Magazine Christmas Fair in Glasgow's SECC.And I was lucky enough to be asked along and bloody hell it was out of this world. I snapped as many pictures for you lot as I could get away with and grabbed lots of flyers and info on the stalls and products that caught my eye aswell. Remember Fringe my deliriously happy walk I did in New York? Well it appeared again in here. With much bravado I might add. Ok I will put up my snaps and some links to just a few of the excellent and very highly rated sellers at the market and you guys can have a nosey.

Woooooooooo! lots of pics!
Here are some links to some of the best stalls that I seen while on my wonders around the hall.

First off .V.N.T.G Designs which specialises in absolutely gorgeous handmade products off all kinds and I hovered around the stall for AGES! The gift package of 3 notebooks for £22 all bowed and labelled up caught my eye immediately. Please get yourself over to the website and be amazed for yourself.

Another stall that stole my wee heart was a charming company called The Lawn, a contemporary tea shop that will knock your stockings off! With teas such as Colonial and Rhubarb Patch, there is something special for everyone, tea lover or not. The packaging is gorgeous and I vow anyone not to love it themselves. Grab an unusual gift from here to show off to your fancy folks!

Not your usual pick however I received a sachet of  ECOVER non bio washing powder and I poked my nose in a little further as to what other products they produced. I was well chuffed to read that they have all sorts of eco friendly cleaning detergents and household cleaners in an array of gorgeous scents such as grapefruit and green tea. Not only are they eco friendly and sustainable, the packing is also pretty too. Go on, have a try!

Ok, you might have noticed above some wrapping pictures and wrapped soap, well within the show every so often someone would run a craft workshop, either a show and tell or a how to, and I managed to squeeze my ass into three of them. The first one in the morning was a lovely young lady from Neals Yard in the west end of Glasgow doing a tutorial on how to make face balm which was heavenly. After a short break another lady taught us all how to wrap Christmas gifts to perfection! Jane Means whizzed through all different types of shapes, sizes, papers, decoration and unusual ways to give your Christmas gifts that extra VA VA VOOM this year. This lady was not only fabulous and nice to boot, she also has been flown all over the world wrapping for folk like Christian Dior. How bloody fancy eh? Love it. The last tutorial we went to was given by a woman who goes by the name of Karon H Grieve and she can be found at So Easy Life which is a quirky website dedicated to all things herbal, handmade and tasty too! great ideas for gifts and freezing, aswell as combinations of flavours and ingredients I would never of even thought to put together. I recommend them all!

Another couple of ladies that caught my eye were the ladies from Orli massage candles as the products were simply different. What they were selling were gorgeous scented candles in all beautiful vapours and not only could you burn them to scent a room, but also use the candle oil for massaging the body too! all you have to do is light the candle and wait, while the cocoa and shea butters mix with the vitamin E and melt into a massage oil and walla., drizzle that baby onto any parts you are having massaged and call yourself a goddess! brilliant gift idea and the scents were to die for.

A cracking event and the food was a high point I would recommend this one to anybody! it was Shabby Chic heaven and I was in my element. That is all for now girlies I am off to lay this weary head wherever there may be a comfy space, but I shall return. Very soon and also with hopefully, even more ideas, product reviews and places to visit. For now though I bid you farewell * falls flat on face *

Much love.

Rrrrrraaaaaaaaaaappppptuuuuuuurrreee!

Work mate and I are sitting rapping this at the moment! It's unbelievably mental/cool. Rap along!!!

Toe to toe
Dancing very close
Barely breathing
Almost comatose
Wall to wall
People hypnotised
And they're stepping lightly
Hang each night in Rapture

Back to back
Sacrailiac
Spineless movement
And a wild attack

Face to face
Sadly solitude
And it's finger popping
Twenty-four hour shopping in Rapture

Fab Five Freddie told me everybody's fly
DJ's spinning I said my, my
Flash is fast, Flash is cool
Francois sais pas, Flashe no deux
And you don't stop, sure shot
Go out to the parking lot
And you get in your car and you drive real far
And you drive all night and then you see a light
And it comes right down and lands on the ground
And out comes a man from Mars
And you try to run but he's got a gun
And he shoots you dead and he eats your head
And then you're in the man from Mars
You go out at night, eatin' cars
You eat Cadillacs, Lincolns too
Mercuries and Subarus
And you don't stop, you keep on eatin' cars
Then, when there's no more cars
You go out at night and eat up bars where the people meet
Face to face, dance cheek to cheek
One to one, man to man
Dance toe to toe
Don't move too slow, 'cause the man from Mars
Is through with cars, he's eatin' bars
Yeah, wall to wall, door to door, hall to hall
He's gonna eat 'em all
Rapture, be pure
Take a tour, through the sewer
Don't strain your brain, paint a train
You'll be singin' in the rain
I said don't stop, do punk rock

Well now you see what you wanna be
Just have your party on TV
'Cause the man from Mars won't eat up bars when the TV's on
And now he's gone back up to space
Where he won't have a hassle with the human race
And you hip-hop, and you don't stop
Just blast off, sure shot
'Cause the man from Mars stopped eatin' cars and eatin' bars
And now he only eats guitars, get up!

I didn't promise you a rose garden.......

Hello ladies,

Great posts you guys, I have danced in my living room to Glenn Miller my dear Bow and have eaten far too much crapolla to list my lovely little Fringe. I am kinda realising my post will most likely be disjointed and not really related to anything, or eachother, however, I know you lot will understand me. If not. Hate mail will duly be expected.

I just realised and am embracing the fact that I LOVE flowers. I really do. I didn't realise this until I got married and like you ladies will know,  I ALWAYS have them at home. You guys will also have noticed that I tend to type exaggerated things in capital letters, no idea why really as I don't shout them whilst typing, or thinking them. Could you imagine though that I did? hahaaaaaa, Mr T would have a heart attack! So on my daily divulge of Pinterest loving I found a beautiful blog dedicated to flowers galore and the imagery on it actually hurt my wee heart it is so stunning. I am aware that I can change the blog from Swedish to English, but al be honest, I have not a bloody scooby how to do it. On passing through, please feel free to make it easy on yourself and change it. See when you do? mail me the how to? ta alot. So I have been in love with photography from different eras (more on that soon) and have been making it a habit to shoot photos of the flowers I get for my house. Some have turned out rather splendid which i'd like to share. I also got treated to flowers I can plant on my own which were exceptionally cheap and may save somewhat on the flower buyage in the future. First of all the blog link.

http://maleviksrosentradgard.blogspot.com/

They play gorgeous music also! get wired in.

Flowers above were only 50p each from B&M and are ready to grow in the the living room!

A local b&q purchase to plant and I love these colours!

The nail varnishes are sensational and go on perfectly considering I have the shakes of  a ninety year old. Bow also gifted myself with the black crackle kind and I love that alot.Ok some outfit inspiration for today, and I cannot recommend this website enough, it kills/inspires me everday and hope it will you guys too. Go to Polyvore and get inspired. I was feeling a cute vintage oufit today.

Healthy Eating vs Retail Career

I have a confession girls. Since starting my 6 day a week work schedule instead of the 1 day a week I'd gotten used to my diet has slipped way below par. Think that having time off and being able to sit all day watching tv makes you eat all day? Yes, possibly. But I also had the energy to walk for hours a day and had time to make tasty soups. No more. Yesterday I managed to eat...

Greek yoghurt with honey, summer fruits and seeds.
Danish toast and hoummous.
Left over spaghetti with pesto.
Weight Watchers soup.
Three tangerines.
A packet of prawn cocktail crisps.
Half a cheese and pickle sandwich.
Flat bread and nutella.
Egg noodle and veg stir fry.
Three custard creams.

What was that all about?! If you look you can see the planned things and the I'm hungry (or, want to eat right now) foods. There was little need for the crisps, sandwich, flatbread and custard creams. But bad planning = munchies.

So looking at my hours this week means I have time to plan and make myself hunners of good things to eat all day. Once a month for about three or four days my body screams out for food CONSTANTLY. If those things are healthy, great. But if not there's a good chance I'll crack and head to McDonalds...

About six months ago I started on the weight watchers plan. I was SO good. I tracked every last crumb I ate and have lost 10.5lbs so far. I'm happy with that. But I stall have 7lbs to go, and they're those sticky lbs that don't fall off easily. I'm going to buy the Zumba game and steal my sister's wii. I'm going to plan plan plan and eat plenty of good stuff. I'll let you know when I crack it and discover the perfect healthy lunch (I hate lunch - there are rubbish healthy, filling vegetarian options out there)

Wish me luck xxxx

Fringe

P.s, girls, my wee tiny granny is sick. I'm going to see her in the hospital right now. Any love and prayers would be so appreciated :)

B.B. Bow

Hi girlies!

Loving H&M/Versace... might be the only time I'll ever be buying Versace! When does it hit shops Topknot?  Fringe - I so feel your pain in the bra department! I'd love to be able to buy they wee tiny bras that always sit at the front of the rail looking tiny and cute... rummage back to my size and its like two parachutes sewn together :(

Also been loving the new B.B Creams that are out - I've been trying the Garnier one for the past few weeks and although I don't think they would be everybody's cup of tea, I'm loving it! Might do a wee review this week if I ever get round to looking out my camera!

Also been making some fun purchases today...

Popcorn Buckets

I picked a few of these up today - I thought they would make really nice Christmas gifts if given with a favourite movie and a bag of popcorn tied with a pretty bow!  Of course when I brought them home Mr Bow decided he would like some for us too! At £2.50 I don't mind picking up a few more!

Bridesmaids DVD

Ah such a funny movie, I was so excited to see it in HMV today! In fact I am just about to make a cup of tea and go watch it once this post is finished!

The Very Best of Glenn Miller

Such wonderful, nostalgic music! I first got hooked on it after going to Walt Disney World - it reminds me of walking around Hollywood Studios and the song Moonlight Serenade is played in the Tower of Terror - my favourite ride ever!

Night all, Bow

Green tea you say?

Well ladies I am back on it. The green tea that is. I have as of recently let every habit ( good ones mind ) like, working out, eating lots of vegetables and drinking water quietly retire to the back of my mind, along with anything else that remotely seems good for me! And much to my annoyance have subsequently noticed my health deteriorate along with it. My tonsils at the moment seem to be rivalling eachother as to who can swell larger and become the most painful to me in the shortest time! * faints *.

Anyhoooo, since I am back on the green tea I thought it would be good to list a few of the reasons why a wee cuppa the green stuff is good for you and yours. Hopefully this will put the rocket I so very need up my arse to get back on track. Yes, I said arse. Which by the way is needing body brushed. The list grows larger AND more boring by the moment. Ok, tea.

▶ it rehydrates you better than water.
▶ it reduces high blood pressure. ( start now and Christmas might NOT kill you )
▶ it boosts immunity against illness. ( tonsils beware )
▶ it is full of anti oxidants.
▶ it burns fat and allows for prolonged exercise. ( sorry what? It burns fat? * makes and drinks 8 litres * )
▶ it lowers stress while boosting brain power. ( if making your own tea is too stressful ask someone else )
▶ it prevents tooth decay and bad breath. ( halitosis anyone? )
▶ it protects lungs and liver against smoking and alcohol. ( I know what you're thinking, and NO )
▶ it has ZERO calories! ( have it wit some cake? )
▶ it is great for your complexion.
▶ it is a great anti ageing cure. ( * cancels Botox appointment * )
▶ it can prevent cancer.
▶ it can boost memory. ( thankgod because I have forgotten why I'm doing this post )
▶ it can strengthen bones.

So if those are not some good reasons to get your gums around a cup then I don't know what is! I would also like to campaign to our local Starbucks to start doing the green tea frapps, you lot up for it? I have made hats with big straws sticking out them so the staff will notice us!!! Ok now I'm just going to put up some green tea image fun to inspire both myself and you lot to embrace the power of the tea!!!!

Have a green day, love Topknot.
