A few days ago I took my little bundle of money and dragged the boy on a shopping adventure. It'll only take twenty minutes I promised. Long story short, an hour and a half later I had been into every shop in a whole shopping centre. Young people's shops, more upmarket shops, expensive, inexpensive, I hit them all. My purse in my hand and desperate to buy some underwear I found myself so frustrated. I am a lady, only a little lady. I'm pretty damn short, and with a healthy bmi. I wasn't looking for anything fancy or spectacular, but I'd rather not spend over £20 on a bra. Every single shop and still, not ONE unpadded bra!!! Eventually guess where I had to spend my money? The supermarket!!! Pft. I'm disappointed high street. Rant over.

Family fun
Hello my gorgeous girlie pops! I've not seen you for ages and ages! What's been happening? Well, I've gone from working one day a week to nearly six, so that's good I guess! Before the madness of Christmas in retail truly begins though I had a weekend of family fun in a certain 5* hotel in Scotland that I can't pretend I don't totally love. There's something about the smell of the place that is just so amazing, I'm going to buy myself some tasty hand wash and hand cream for my bathroom to replicate the wondefulness! All my gorgeous cousins and family were there, only missing one aunt and wee cuz and my wee bro who's living it up in Canada. Happy birthday to him today btw!! But anyhow, nothing happened really. Just walks in the gorgeous frosty sunshine and a wee bit of a swim before a lovely family lunch and home. I only get to see this side of the family twice a year so it makes it extra special when we're all together. There was a super amazo green Thai curry cooked up, I'll be getting and posting that recipe soon before possibly butchering it at home myself! Bow your soup looked well tasty, please deliver some to me at work today thank you much! I'm off to do some actual work now so love ya much, chat later.

Baby you are a firework!
Well my oh my, straight into the festivities this year and I almost cannot keep up with how fast it's rolling in! That is now Halloween AND Bonfire night over with and I survived them both. Actually nothing more prettier than driving home last night to a landscape of continuous fireworks, there was no need to go to a display atall. Then I hit the fog and was blinded to any kind of life that may have existed not two seconds before.
So the wedding was great, I arrived only 3 hours late and had to wash my hands over and over again as my fake eyelash glue had popped, all over my hands!!! The plague comes to mind.
Just a quick post before most prolly a huge n tonight, but Bow loved the post!! Your pumpkins were smashing ( hehehe) and the cake pops looked brilliant! You got a whole step further than I ever have with them!!!
I just wanted to give a shout out to a fantastic recommendation by Fringeness for a great wee vocalist ( she's actually dead tall by the way ) that goes by the name of Lana Del Rey.Her voice is soooo seductive it can almost make you feel drunk. Her old Hollywood glamour videos are just dream like and float from one mini film to another. Very different, not contrived and the songs are fully lyrical. No repeats of words like boom boom boom, just good old story telling and I fairly enjoy a story I do!
Check out her stuff! She is a huge YouTube sensation and I've fallen in love with her voice!

I'm back from beyond!
Hello ladies! Apologies for my prolonged absence - oh my gosh I've been working so much and as soon as I get home I have just about enough energy to make something to eat and then I'm fast asleep! To make matters worse, I went over my usage limit for date on my phone, so haven't been able to do quick blog entries, or even check on it at all this week! I'm glad you are both managing to keep up the blogging, enough for all three of us :)
It looks like you have both been busy doing some smashing stuff, so I thought I'd share some of my own adventures from last week.
Here was my first culinary adventure... CAKE POPS! Don't read any further if you are hoping to see amazing cake pops... you will be sorely disappointed. If you would like to find out how they turn out when you aren't properly prepared then by all means go ahead and read :)
This is the recipe I (very vaguely) followed, its a lovely website with loads of ideas on it!
As you can see in the photo, I had to scrape my cake out of the tin - not the best start although luckily it was all going to be mixed up anyway! I had planned on my cake pops being lilac on the inside, but when I mixed the lilac cream cheese frosting into my cake crumbs, it turned a kind of paper-bag brown colour... not terribly appealing to look at!
The rest went pretty well, apart from some sizing issues (read: me getting lazy and trying to do it in a hurry!) The pink coating was fabby, it is very easy to use and looks gorgeous once dry! The big problem was when it came to dipping them in the lovely pink mixture, I hadn't thought at all about how I was going to sit them to dry. Setting them back on the paper was definitely not an option, it made one huge sticky pink mess all over the place. I read some other recipes which suggested a styrofoam block wrapped in cellophane to stand them on until they have set. I think this would work really well and will try to find some before my next attempt. For the time being I had to make do with an improvised stand - an upside-down egg carton, which worked well for the 6 pops it was big enough to hold!
I would recommend that anyone who is going to try making cake pops should definitely try to get the other kind of lollypop sticks, like these, as my ones were far too big - they split the pops in half so only a few survived the whole process (crumbled ones taste jut as good as whole ones, for the record).
I must have been in the mood for cooking this week, as I also made a huge pot of seasonal butternut squash and sweet potato soup. I peeled and diced all the ingredients (see below) and then added them to a pan with some hot oil to sweat for a bit. After about 10 minutes I added about 1 litre of vegetable stock, brought it to the boil and then let it simmer for about 45 minutes. I love pepper and added lashings of white pepper to mine and just a dash of salt.
Once I checked the vegetables were all cooked through I blended it with a handheld food processor, which I somehow managed to melt and the blade attachment came flying off just as I was removing it from the soup! Food processor swiftly binned and soup practically sieved to check for any pieces of metal or plastic! Luckily none was found and the soup tasted fantastic! So easy and healthy and it lasted for three days worth of lunches at work.
And finally my beloved pumpkins...
The sad news is, despite my collection of pumpkins and big bowls of sweets... not even one trick or treater came to our house! Devastated doesn't even cover it!
Now it's late and I can't find any tights for work tomorrow, so I am off to do a washing.

Just chatting
Well hello there my little chunky monkeys. I'm doing a few things simultaneously today. Firstly I'm trying to gut the flat because my mother in law (without the law) is coming to dinner. I won't be there but still, there has been smoked fish made in this house (not by me) in the last few days. Boke. Next I'm sitting watching ugly Betty and drinking coffee. I'm also trying to get ready for work and investigate what I'll need to buy to wear to work tonight. Yes I know I work for a fashion company (I got the job!!!) but I don't start to wear uniform for another week and have to try and not wear the same outfit every day (whatever I wear needs to be nice and smart, but not overly so, and must also be plain enough that noone will admire it too much or ask where I got it)...I'm also thinking about last minute preparations for the family get together this weekend. This happens every year, and involves stunning gorgeous cousins and a swimming pool...so I reckon some nice new nail varninsh, a bit of body brushing and maybe some fake tan? I'm not sure but the pool with my whitish blue body as it is won't be pretty...Of course it must be noted that I am also writing this blog post which is setting me back muchos much. I wanted to leave in half an hour. No chance. I wish I'd tried your shorts a couple of weeks ago knotty one, that might have made a difference!
Ooft, I'm off to get ready. I'm doing some research in to body brushing and the wonders it can achieve, a post about it will be coming soon...

Lots Of Topknot Fun
Well hello there fun faces!
This years Halloween has been a good'n and it seemed like EVERYONE and their mothers took part and got rite into the spirit.... I am extra pleased as I ended up with lots of sweetie treats left over so it means more for meeeeeee!!!! haha, anyways, last night I was driving to my cousins house not far from my own and on the main road it was pitch black and silent with no people in sight. Not unusual you say, you're correct, but then I noticed these huge eyes gleaming from the shine of my car head lights. Standing there staring at me was this massive massive dog! with no owner and no lead, did I mention it was MASSIVE? Halloween aswell, mental.
Ok lately I baked Empire biscuits and Butter melt biscuits so being the kind kind person that I is. I thought I would post them so you guys can have a try. Empire biscuits first, and who doesn't love these?
Ok next post will be the gorgeous Butter melt biscuits!!!
